Care Guide
Caring for your Resin Cheeseboards
Monika Pawsey Art Resin Cheeseboards are best used for food presentation purpose, rather than to use as a cutting board. The resin used to coat the decorated part of the board is a ‘limited food contact safe’ resin which means it is permitted that occasional cold and dry food contact is permitted. Nothing wet, hot or cold should be placed on the resin.
Further care instructions are;
· Please clean with a damp cloth and dry immediately
· Please keep out of direct sunlight to prevent colour fading
· Please do not cut on the resin
· Please do not soak the board
· Please do not put in dishwasher, oven or microwave
· Please do not use harsh chemicals when cleaning
Caring for your Alcohol Ink and Resin Coasters
All coasters are designed and decorated with Alcohol Inks and then coated with epoxy resin. Although this resin is rated for heat it is recommended that hot mugs are not left on the coasters for too long as this may create dents in the resin. A wipe with a wet cloth is sufficient as it is not recommended that you soak them in water.
Caring for your Resin Jewellery
Resin is strong and durable, yet should be treated with care as very similar to ceramics if dropped or knocked against something can break. To keep your resin jewellery pieces looking nice, or to restore that lovely shine please add a small amount of coconut oil to a soft cloth and buff your piece. Your resin jewellery may in time discolour or change in look due to wear and tear. The UV is damaging to the resin and it is advised that your pieces are kept out of direct sunlight.
Caring for your Resin Art
All care is used when applying the resin coating to your art piece. Cleaning your piece with a damp cloth and wiping with a soft microfiber cloth is recommended. Please do not use any harsh chemicals to clean the piece as it can affect the resin finish.
It is advised that your resin art piece is not hung on a wall that gets a lot of sun exposure or strong lighting. The resin used has UV protection as part of the chemical make-up but constant and strong sunlight will eventually damage the finish and can affect the discolouration of the piece.
As resin expands and contracts it is imperative that it is hung in a dry and shady spot. If used to wet areas like bathrooms it may become damaged by the moisture. Monika Pawsey Art does not take responsibility for art pieces that have been damaged by improper use.
Caring for your Alcohol Ink Art
Alcohol Inks are not lightfast and can fade in time. All of Monika Pawsey Art Alcohol Ink arts pieces are coated numerous times with multiple UV protective sprays to protect the piece as much as possible, however they can still fade. Keeping your art away from direct sunlight is paramount in order to keep the colours looking optimal.
